Welcome to issue 109 of the Lantern

2023 has been another busy and exciting year for Farleigh Hospice

In recent months, we have presented our innovative work at the EAPC World Congress and welcomed local religious leaders to talk about their beliefs at end of life. We were also visited by Chelmsford MP Vicky Ford for Hospice Care Week.

We understand that Christmas can be a difficult time if you have lost someone special, so please join us at our local Light Up A Life remembrance services.

We are looking for more Farleigh Helpers. If you're a good listener with time to spare each week, we would love to hear from you.

In this edition, you can also read about our festive fundraising activities. Our 5km Santa Fun Run returns on Sunday 3 December and schools, nurseries and youth groups can hold their own Reindeer Run.

You can find the perfect presents and party outfit at our new Full Circle store and our other Farleigh shops across mid Essex or you can give the gift of choice with a Charity Shop Gift Card. If you are having a real Christmas tree, our collection and recycling service can take away the stress of disposing of it for you.

You may be looking for a new goal in 2024. Read Jack Gallie’s inspirational story and we have some exciting sporting challenges in 2024 with more information about each on our events page.

Thank you for your continued support for Farleigh Hospice. I wish you a happy and peaceful Christmas and New Year.
