Welcome to the Spring issue of The Lantern.

At the time of writing this welcome, the sun is shining, the birds are singing and it really feels as if Spring has finally sprung!

This Spring is an exciting time for Farleigh as it is our 40th birthday. To celebrate, all of our fundraising events this year are in honour of this special birthday and we hope that you'll all be right there with us having some birthday fun!

As part of our celebrations, we teamed up with Sarah Glew and held a spring ball in March which raised an amazing £27,000! Read all about the evening on page 17. On the night guests were treated to the premiere of our 40th birthday video, which you can watch by visiting farleighhospice.org/40-film or on our Facebook page at facebook.com/FarleighHospice.

As we enjoy our birthday celebrations, it's important to reflect on the hard word of the whole Farleigh team, who continue to meet the increasing need for our services. It's thanks to the dedication, creativity and hard work of all teams that we have been able to meet this need. A huge thank you to all of our amazing Farleigh staff.

Thank you too, to our wonderful volunteers. In June, we'll be celebrating their wonderful work during Volunteers' Week (see page 11). They are essential to every aspect of Farleigh and we are extremely grateful to them all.

There's a lot to look forward to this Spring, we hope you'll join us in celebrating our milestone year.

Thank you for your continued support, it is because you care, that we can.
