Our 40th birthday film

In celebration of 40 years of Farleigh, our short film features memories from some of the original staff involved in the setting up of Farleigh Hospice in the 1980's, along with some nostalgic archive footage.

Let us take you back to 1982...

It was quite a year, the Queen celebrated her Pearl Jubilee, Prince William was born, Britain received its first visit by a reigning Pope, and hosted the Eurovision song contest.

More significantly for the mid Essex community, Farleigh Hospice was established to support local families.

As we celebrate 40 years of providing care to those affected by life-limiting illness and bereavement, we have made this short film exploring the history of Farleigh Hospice in the words of some of the committed few who laid the foundations for hospice care in mid-Essex.

Special thanks to (in order of appearance): Christine Hogben, Janet Curmi, Deborah Sayles, David Frampton, Jackie Wark, and John Watkins.
