Christmas Tree Recycling is back in 2025
10 January - 12 January 2025
Let us collect and recycle your real Christmas tree
Our merry little Farleigh Elves are currently enjoying a well-earned rest. But they will be back in early January to collect and recycle your real Christmas trees.
Tree collections will take place across mid Essex including Braintree, Burnham, Chelmsford, Coggeshall, Danbury, Dunmow, Kelvedon, Maldon, Southminster, South Woodham Ferrers, Stock and Witham, as well as the surrounding villages and areas.
While Christmas may be a few months off, we invite you to pre-register now for our tree collection service. By doing so, you will be notified as soon as we open for registrations.
Individual & Corporate Volunteering
To run this event successfully, we rely on the help of a team of volunteers to act as drivers and drivers’ mates. The main task involves collecting Christmas trees from homes across mid Essex and transporting them to our recycling hub in Boreham.
In return, we will ensure that you are well taken care of with hot food and drinks, goodie bags and an enjoyable day. We welcome the support of Individuals, families, community groups, or businesses with access to appropriate vehicles, or who can arrange for their hire. Ideally, we need vehicles such as large transit vans or 3.5-tonne tail lifts. Your contribution in any way, will be greatly appreciated.

Here are some of our volunteers who got involved in 2024
Steve Boughy from Smashing Buns said, "The hospice provided incredible care for my dear dad, and my family and I are immensely grateful for their compassion and support during such a difficult time. Participating in events like the Christmas Tree Recycling is a small way for us to give back to Farleigh Hospice that has done so much for us. The event itself is always a great few days feeding the volunteers, and it feels great to contribute to such a meaningful cause"
Julie Chandler from Chelmsford Lions said, "Recycling at a new level with a great sense of leftover Christmas community spirit"
