Farleigh Hospice is looking for a Corporate Fundraiser to join our Fundraising department.

The successful applicant will be working in a busy and creative team. You will champion Corporate fundraising through engagement within our Mid Essex Business Community and will contribute to the implementation of a corporate fundraising strategy. The role will be the main contact for businesses – large and small - and your key focus will be the development of new business supporters. You will ensure Farleigh Hospice’s wider portfolio of income generating initiatives are communicated to the corporate audience. You will be involved in projects that seek to increase our supporter base, increase brand awareness, drive income and create successful communication campaigns.

You will be a team player with excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbally and written. You give strong attention to detail and have the ability to work under pressure.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialty Doctor post working in the Mid Essex community served by Farleigh Hospice, Chelmsford. The post-holder will undertake medical assessment, diagnosis and management of patients with identifiable complex specialist palliative care needs working alongside the Community Lead Consultant, two other part-time Community Consultants and the Community Clinical Nurse Specialist team. Experience in the field of Palliative Medicine and End of Life Care is desirable as the post-holder will be working in an autonomous manner.

This post provides an excellent opportunity either for gaining additional experience or developing a career in Palliative Medicine.

You will be the Doctor providing support and advice to members of the clinical nurse specialist team as well as the day therapies team if needed, prioritising referrals into the service over the preceding 24 hours, communicating with patients & relatives and liaising with other healthcare professionals. You may also be asked to provide some support to our 10 bedded specialist in-patient unit if required. You will be part of an extensive multi-professional team with excellent expertise in end of life care. An excellent team player and good communicator, you will participate in teaching and audit programmes and be part of a non-residential on-call rota.

Farleigh Hospice is a thriving charity located in Chelmsford, Essex, next to Broomfield Hospital. The post is within commuting distance of London. Travel times from the Eastern part of London take approximately 1 hour by car and there is free on-site parking. Regular trains from London Liverpool Street to Chelmsford take 35 minutes.

Our Events Assistant will work across all of Farleigh Hospices key events, providing administrative and planning support, maximising participant numbers and income and providing an excellent supporter journey for our participants.

You must have the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, be available to work some weekends and evenings and have access to a car for work purposes.

The position is a part time 15 hours a week.

We are looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Counsellor/Therapist who is accredited or working towards it, to offer support, counselling and group work to children, young people and families as part of the Yo-Yo Project community childhood bereavement service. You will be a member of a multi-professional team managing your own caseload of clients and must be self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work with children and young people addressing complex issues of loss (pre-bereavement) and bereavement.

With an Advanced Diploma/Degree in Counselling (or other related therapy) and experience of working with young people who are bereaved and/or facing a loss, this could be your next exciting opportunity. Who are we looking for in our Director of Care?

We are looking for the right candidate who can lead and champion the clinical teams. You will have a strong track record in leadership, good understanding of clinical governance, excellent budgetary control and business planning experience with a view to achieving and maintaining an 'Outstanding' regulatory rating and excellent patient and family experience.

As Director of Care you will work alongside our Medical Director to deliver new models of care that will reach out to those who need and want our services.

You will work collaboratively with the Senior Management Team (SMT) to deliver a ‘One Team’ approach to hospice care, acting as a role model to lead and inspire the delivery of the hospice strategy.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week (which may include some weekend and evening work)

Main Responsibilities as our Director of Care:

  • Jointly lead on clinical/medical strategy and development with the Medical Director to deliver needs based, outcome focused clinical services
  • Provide effective leadership to the clinical team of Farleigh Hospice to enable the provision and maintenance of the highest standards of clinical care
  • Provide visible professional and consultative leadership across the organisation and in particular for the clinical team to ensure a positive and supporting culture
  • Be focused on quality of care and the improvement of patient/carer/user outcomes and experiences
  • Efficiently and effectively manage resources and clinical budget
  • Develop and build the professional workforce in line with service needs
  • Ensure compliance with registering bodies, including Care Quality Commission in the role of Registered Manager and other lead roles as set out in this job description

You will also have:

  • Masters level qualification in relevant subject e.g. oncology, palliative care, leadership

  • Competent in setting budgets and analysing budget information
  • Extensive post registration experience of which three (3) years must be as a Clinical Manager
  • Experience in a specialist palliative care service

  • Has contributed at a regional or national level to developments in palliative care

Farleigh Hospice have an exciting opportunity for an inspiring and motivated Head of Inpatient Unit - Day and Therapy to join our team based in Chelmsford. You will be working on a full time, permanent basis (37.5 hour per week) and in return, receive a highly competitive salary.

Farleigh Hospice exists to meet the needs of local people affected by life-limiting illnesses and to support those who have been bereaved. By giving people choice and involvement in the care they receive we make a real difference when and where it matters most. We provide a range of services for patients and their families including an advice line, Hospice at Home, physiotherapy, occupational and complementary therapy, spiritual care, bereavement and emotional support.

You will be responsible and accountable for operational delivery, identifying annual local operational objectives aligned to Farleigh Hospice strategic direction and strategic operational plan. You will also be a key in ensuring the IPU unit and day and therapies aim to achieve ‘Outstanding’ regulatory ratings.

Main Responsibilities as our Head of Inpatient Unit - Day and Therapy:

  • Responsible and accountable for compliance, key performance indicators and standards associated to the service.
  • Lead on the development and delivery of appropriate strategies for your areas of responsibility as agreed with the Director of Care.
  • Attendance and participation in CCG and NHS contract meetings when relevant.
  • Network and participate in strategic, system wide meetings representing and promoting the work of Farleigh Hospice.
  • Deputise for the Director of Care in their absence with responsibility to make decisions on behalf of the Senior Clinical Team in liaison with the Medical Director.
  • Be part of the Senior Clinical Managers out of hour’s on-call rota providing clinical support across all clinical teams.
  • Contribute to the Workforce Strategy for clinical services.
  • Lead on the development of the service in line with hospice, network and national strategies, sharing new ideas with the Director of Care, SCT and when required Clinical Governance Committee. Once agreed all changes and new developments will be implemented in line with organisational change policy.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills aligned to personal leadership development plan and associated tools such as Top 100 and Insights, applying inspirational and motivational leadership for the whole team.
