To provide a counselling service to patients and/or families.


What you'll do
  • Provide counselling for patients and families on an individual basis (flexible days and times to suit) 
  • Maintain records and statistics in accordance with Farleigh Hospice requirements
  • Participate in the work of the family support team, ensuring confidential, effective and consistent professional practice
  • Attend supervision/feedback sessions (individual or in a small group) with the Family Support Team counsellor on a monthly basis
  • Attend annual review/appraisal sessions with the Family Support Team counsellor (this will be a 1:1 session)
  • Attend Family Support training and mandatory sessions

Minimum Requirements
  • Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling or similar
  • Significant post-qualification experience
  • Experience of working with clients who have suffered loss
  • Effective oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Equally effective working autonomously and within a team
  • Registration/membership with BACP or equivalent organisation
  • To have undergone a minimum amount of self-analysis/personal therapy
