National Volunteers week

To all 782 of our wonderful volunteers – a MASSIVE thank you for all that you do for Farleigh throughout the year.

As I have walked and talked with many of you this week I have been struck by your humbleness with regards to your roles.  What you do is not just a small contribution it really is huge and your worth to Farleigh collectively as a volunteer group is estimated to be over £1million each year – WOW!!  We really could not do what we do without you.

There is a lovely display in North Court Road for those of you who work in the hospice site to see and for those who are not based here you are very welcome to pop in and say hello and HR will be happy to arrange a tour of the hospice for you or to answer any questions you may have or direct you to one of our managers who will be able to have a chat.

I have met recently with our garden volunteers to thank them and to hear about their ideas for projects planned in our hospice garden. I have met with other volunteers as part of their team meetings and I am hoping to get out and about for my summer visits to our shops early this summer to say hello to as many of our shop volunteers as possible.  On Thursday 29th June, National cream tea day I am hosting a get together for a cup of tea and a chat at North Court Road at 3pm for staff and volunteers, all welcome to pop in to the Courtyard Café.

Keep up the good work and a BIG thank you to everyone.

Best wishes

Alison Stevens
