There are a number of fundraising and support groups who have come together to help Farleigh Hospice by organising events to raise funds. Some of the groups are run along formal lines while others are much more informal. Between them they raise in the region of £50,000 per year and represent Farleigh Hospice wherever they go.

Danbury Support Group

This fundraising group is headed by Margaret Axon. They organise an extremely successful annual Open Gardens event and are always on the lookout for more active members.


Farleigh Hospice Craft Group

The Craft Group for Chelmsford, Witham, Braintree and Tiptree produce many different craft items. They also organise fundraising events such as quiz nights, dances, craft fairs and walks, whilst occasionally having a stall within the Chelmsford City Market. This is the largest craft group which meets in the four different areas mentioned. Meetings to discuss and make crafts for upcoming events take place monthly. This group is a social group, attending various external events throughout the year!

Farleigh St Clare’s Craft Circle

This Maldon based group produce high quality hand made craft items. They attend external events and organise their own market stalls and coffee mornings. The group is led by Maureen Head.

Friends of Farleigh

The Friends of Farleigh group organise diverse events ranging from Bridge Luncheons, Quiz Nights to Flower Arranging Evenings. They also sell home made jams and chutneys and they have a well-established committee. They have a membership scheme boasting over 400 members. The Friends of Farleigh group is chaired by Julie Renvoize.

Great Baddow Support Group

This group organises four lunches a year, which are very well attended. They host cream teas in the summer months. They also organise many other types of events including dances and quiz nights.

The Springfield Support Group organises Quiz Nights, host Tea at 3 events and Open Gardens. Jean Plush, Angela Radley and Valerie Miller are the main contacts for this group.
