I want to help Volunteer Information Service Volunteer Ref Number: 1864VDS Wanted ...volunteers for the Information & Support Service Are you passionate about helping people who are ill, or bereaved, or know someone who is, have access to the information and support that they need? If yes, please think about applying to be a Farleigh Hospice Information and Support volunteer. We are seeking 12-15 volunteers to help provide the service on the Hospice Outreach vehicle (HOP) which travels round mid Essex, at various events in the area, and in the joint Farleigh/Macmillan Information and Support Pod in Broomfield Hospital. The role of the Information Service is to provide a ‘drop-in’ information and support facility for people seeking information on life limiting illness, general hospice information or more complex, in-depth help and advice. The role requires a range of skills and involves making people feel welcome, providing a listening ear, enabling people to access the right information or sign posting them to relevant members of the clinical team, as well as some administration duties. Ongoing training and support will be provided. The Information Service runs Monday to Friday and we are looking for volunteers to help during the morning and/or afternoon, on any day, on a regular basis.
