Virtual London Marathon
Would you like to take part in the Virtual Virgin London Marathon?
Virgin London Marathon goes virtual!
Do you think you could complete a marathon in six weeks time? If so we could possibly offer you a place! We are opening a small ballot for the virtual marathon only.
This is a London Marathon like no other with a rule change for the virtual event only which allows you 24 hours to complete 26.2 miles – walk, run or a combination with breaks allowed across the full day.
If you are planning to do the Virtual London Marathon and would still want a bit of atmosphere and support, we are planning to host a real virtual marathon on the day. There will be a route from Farleigh Hospice itself where runners (or walkers) can do a marked out 6.55 miles route. This is a quarter of a full marathon distance , so 4 times round and you have done it! Staff and volunteers will be around on the day to assist with a water stop on the way round, and a chance to restock and rest at the start finish.
We plan to open the route from 9AM and runners can start whenever they want to and allow all day for people to take as long as they need to complete, although in October the sunset will be about 6:30, so would suggest finishing by 6 to be safe as the route is along unlit roads.
The route can be found here if anybody wishes to try it beforehand https://www.plotaroute.com/route/1243357
If you are interested in taking part please email firstname.lastname@example.org by the 31st August 2020.
This is for the virtual event only. We will be asking you to fundraise a minimum of £500 for us and pay the registration fee of £20 which will include an iconic finishers t-shirt (if this is achieved) and a 40th anniversary medal.
This is a ballot only and application does not guarantee a place. Please apply as soon as you can!
