Fly for Farleigh!

With a tandem parachute specially designed for two, you will board an aircraft and soar to around 13,000 feet (approximately two miles high!) As you leave the plane, you will fall at about 150mph, descending to 5,000 feet in around 40 seconds. At this point, your instructor will open the parachute and fly you safely back to earth. During the time under the parachute, you will enjoy unique views of the local area and beyond. We guarantee that your tandem skydive will be an exhilarating experience!

For this once in a lifetime adrenaline rush, all we ask is a £50 registration fee (paid direct to UK Parachuting) and a minimum of £450 in fundraising sponsorship by Friday 15 May 2026. If you meet this minimum fundraising target, the cost of the skydive will be covered by us. If not, you can still take part but you must pay the balance of £190 yourself on the day of the jump directly to UK Parachuting.

Please read the FAQs and check the criteria prior to booking!

If Saturday 6 June is unsuitable, you can jump on another day if UK Parachuting have space available. Contact UK Parachuting directly to arrange this. Please mention that you are jumping for Farleigh Hospice and then let us know when your booking is confirmed.

Karen's story

In Summer 2024, Farleigh Hospice’s Courtyard Café assistant Karen, who is Deaf following a childhood accident, took to the skies for Farleigh on a tandem skydive. She faced the added challenge of receiving her pre-jump briefing and instructions through a British Sign Language interpreter. She courageously overcame her nerves and soared for a great cause.

Karen tells us about the experience. “Once I had registered it was easy to set up my JustGiving page. Everyone was generous and even a few pounds here and there soon added up. I raised was over £1,800! It was lovely to have the support of my Farleigh colleagues - they said to me how brave I was but also told me I was a little bit crazy.

I arrived early so I could watch the other people jump. My interpreter helped me with the safety instructions, and we used BSL to talk about jumping out, landing, how to put the suit and backpack on, and how I would be attached to my instructor. Once we were on the plane it was incredible just looking at the beautiful views. Then it was time - One, two, three, JUMP!

I screamed and screamed, but I had my eyes open, my goggles on, the wind was in my face, I felt like I was just flying like a bird. It was just wonderful gliding through the sky. When we landed, I thought, I've done it, brilliant! I was so proud of myself, it was an experience I’ll never forget, it was amazing!"
