Our Memory Tree is a stunning sculpture within the hospice’s garden and offers a unique and meaningful way to pay tribute to the memory of someone special.

Susanna Offor, Chaplain & Spiritual Care Lead, talks about the latest dedications added to our Memory Tree.

Kelly Thompson, who dedicated the first leaf on the Memory Tree to her Dad, shares her story:

"I think the Memory Tree is a wonderful idea and I have already signed up to dedicate a leaf to my Dad, Jeff Godbold, who sadly died at the hospice in October 2019. Whilst with Farleigh he spent a lot of time out in the garden, he wanted to stay out there all day! He loved the flowers and in particular the tree sculpture. Dad thought it was beautiful, he has his photograph taken by it and enjoyed spending time in the memory garden."

Debbie de Boltz (Fundraising Manager) and Allison Jones (Trusts, Legacy & In Memory Fundraiser) with Kelly Thompson who dedicated the first leaf on the Memory Tree to her Dad.

"After Dad died I contacted Farleigh about the tree and I ordered my tribute leaf. The Memory Tree offers us somewhere special to remember Dad and we are looking forward to visiting the Memory Garden to see his leaf on the tree whenever we come to the hospice."

"We are so grateful to Farleigh, my Dad knew very early on that he wanted to come to the hospice as he didn't want my Mum to have to worry about caring for him at home. Abbey our Farleigh Nurse visited us regularly at home and helped us when the time came to go into the hospice. Farleigh offered my Dad peace and reassurance, you couldn't ask for anything better than that, everyone is fantastic."

"I am so pleased to know that by dedicating a leaf to my Dad that we are contributing towards the care of future patients and families."

The Memory Tree, located in our lovely Memory Garden at North Court Road, is the perfect place to reflect quietly about a loved one you miss.

Add your own dedication to the Memory Tree:

The beautiful leaves and hearts will be engraved with the name of your loved one and can remain on the tree for as long as you wish. Every leaf or heart creates a unique personal tribute and offers you somewhere special to go, a place to reflect and treasure your memories in peaceful surroundings.

Everyone is welcome to place a tribute, whether your loved one was cared for by us or not. You can view the tree at any time, especially important when you want time to remember special moments, anniversaries or birthdays. You can choose to dedicate a leaf or heart for one year, for a donation of £120. This can be a one off donation or a donation of £10 a month by direct debit (minimum of 12 months). The donation you make with your tribute will help us to continue to care and support people living with a life-limiting illness or bereavement.
