We have a number of therapy sessions to help, support and manage the symptoms of those with a life-limiting illness.

Easibreathe

Our Easibreathe sessions are designed to support people who are experiencing breathlessness. These weekly one hour sessions provide a supportive and fun environment to practice and improve your breathing techniques.

Our therapy team will work with you, carrying out an initial assessment, helping you to set goals and supporting you to get the most out of each session.

Seated Exercise

Through our seated exercise programme we will help you improve your flexibility, strength and reduce stress. These gentle workouts are run by a qualified physiotherapist and therapy assistants. We can also offer 1:1 support if required.

Gym Drop In

Join our weekly gym drop in group and help improve your health through gentle exercise. We will support you every step of the way, with a personalised exercise programme, developed by one of our physiotherapists.

My Day, My Way

Our 10 week self-management course is designed to support people living with a life-limiting illness and their carers. We invite you to choose from our array of workshops including eating well, keeping active, relationships, complementary therapy, breathlessness management, talking about dying, reminiscence and benefits advice.

Carers are invited to join our afternoon sessions which cover a range of topics from benefits advice, sleep hygiene to medicine management.

Date: 10 week course held on a Tuesday

Participation and Respite

Our participation and respite days provide a relaxed and friendly atmosphere that allows us to monitor changes in your health and provide you with useful information and emotional support. The day also provides respite for carers.

You will be supported through a team of professionals including a Registered Nurse, an Associate Practitioner, Health Care Assistants, and a Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Spa Retreat Days

Every two months we invite our patients and carers to enjoy a day of relaxation and complementary therapy. You can choose from a variety of treatments, completely free of charge.

Neuro Peer Support Group

If you are living with a neurological condition, you are invited to join our Neuro Peer Support Group. It’s an ideal opportunity to meet others in a similar situation, share your thoughts and experiences in an informal, relaxed and friendly environment. This group is also open to families and carers.

HOPE for patients

Help Overcoming Problems Effectively (HOPE) is a group therapy programme aimed at promoting positive thinking. During the six week course, we will cover a range of topics designed to support positive thinking including self-management, coping strategies, goal setting, confidence building, use of relaxation and communications.
