We offer a number of groups and drop in sessions for patients and carers both at the hospice and out in the community.

Bookworms

Join the Farleigh Bookworms. We meet every month to share our thoughts and opinions on the latest literature delights. It’s a great way to meet new people and share your passion for reading in a relaxed and friendly environment.

We welcome patients and both past and present families, and carers.

Chelmsford Bookworms

Carer Drop in

Our weekly carers drop in sessions offer you the perfect opportunity to meet with other carers, discuss daily life and share experiences with people in a similar situation.

You will also be able to access information and advice on support for carers.

The group is open to anyone caring for someone living with a life-limiting illness.

Creative Workshop

Take some time out from the everyday to learn a new craft, rekindle an old one or simply relax and enjoy a chat with other like-minded people.

This workshop is open to all our patients and offers you the chance to escape and the opportunity to recharge, as well as learn or develop a creative skill.

Date: Every Tuesday (16 sessions)
Time: 1.30pm – 4.00pm

Community Choir

Here at Farleigh Hospice our Community Choir is open to all. There are no auditions, simply come along and enjoy an evening of singing, with a playlist offering a mixture of contemporary music and international folk songs.

This friendly and informal group is led by Ruth Ellam, an experienced choir leader and music therapist.

Date: Wednesdays during term time
Time: 7pm-8.30pm (refreshments available from 6.30pm)

Social Drop In

Our Social Drop In groups are open to everyone, it’s the perfect opportunity to get out and about, meet new people and enjoy a chat over a cup of tea or take part in one of the many activities, from games to arts and crafts.

“I really enjoy the social groups, it gets me out of the house. I like the company and everyone is so friendly. Every third Monday we have an art class, otherwise we play cards, do a quiz or just have a chat, it’s a lot of fun.”

Our Bereavement Help Points offer a drop in group for anyone bereaved in mid Essex. In a relaxed environment, you can enjoy a cup of tea, a chat, meet new people, share experiences and access help and support.
