Reaching out to our community

In 2019 we launched our new Hospice Outreach Project (HOP) vehicle, designed to deliver hospice care directly to the community.

Amanda Garrett, our new support worker joined the team just four months ago and has already clocked up hundreds of miles, visiting towns and villages across mid Essex. The team provide information and support to people who are ill, bereaved, or worried about someone who is.

Amanda said, “We are here to help and give people the information and support they need when they are living with a life-limiting illness or bereavement. We can help people navigate the services offered by Farleigh and also signpost them to a range of local services, including community groups, Macmillan and social and mental health services.

"Farleigh supported two of my close friends, offering both emotional support and end of life care. The hospice was there for us, as they are for everyone across mid Essex. We want people to know that we are here to talk, so just come over and say hello!”
