Farleigh Hospice Position Statement – Assisted Dying

Wednesday 20th November

  • Care and support

As a charity that provides care and support to people affected by life-limiting illnesses in mid Essex, we understand that assisted dying is a highly sensitive issue and that within our local community and our organisation, people will have strong and wide-ranging views.

Whatever decisions are made around assisted dying in the UK, our focus remains on delivering the highest quality palliative and end of life care, in close consultation with our patients and their families, as well as ensuring there is fair and equitable access to our services.

In order for us to ensure that all those who need our care are able to receive it, we urge the government to prioritise the funding of hospices.
