CareCo & Farleigh, the story so far…

Wednesday 4th May

The partnership between CareCo and Farleigh started early March with a call from Adam Randall their Quality & Compliance Coordinator gauging our interest in a possible donation of Riser Recliner Chairs.

When Paul Mintram (Braintree Homeware shop Manager) expressed an interest, Adam advised that it could amount to approximately 100 Chairs, and he asked if we could accommodate so many? "Of course", I replied, knowing that the barn would be the only storage facility available (although being extremely tight on space).

Adam attended an internal meeting later that week to discuss the possible donation and the logistics to move this stock to our barn, I also discussed the internal practicalities with Vicki, and the use of the barn.

On the 8th of March, we received official approval for the donation of the 100 chairs and CareCo scheduled the delivery to the barn on Friday 11th, just 4 days later.

On the day a team from CareCo met myself and Tony Osborne to perform the offload and storage into the barn, two 40FT articulated trailers and several hours later the offload was completed and the barn absolutely full to the brim. We shipped 6 back to the shop the same night and prepared for Saturday sales the next day.

The success story continued from there with sales achieved the very next day, which have continued.

The photos demonstrate the step-by-step story, from picking the stock from the CareCo warehouse, at the barn and being unload, arriving at our shop back door, being unpacked ready to be Pat tested and presentation for the shop, and finally on the shop floor for sale.

We have now successfully completed many sales, and have enough stock to continue to do so for some time.

At the end of April, a team led by James Parfitt of CareCo volunteered in their own time to help us sort and reorganise the barn, which helped transform the barn into a professional working environment.

This is an amazing success story and hopefully just the beginning, the entire team that I have had dealings with are amazing and just keep going out of their way to help and support Farleigh.
