Walk for Life Raises £81,000

Farleigh Hospice are pleased to announce that an incredible £81,000 has been pledged at this year’s Walk for Life event on Sunday 20th May. The sponsored event saw 910 participants enjoying a leisurely stroll across the Essex countryside on one of two scenic routes.

Walkers were given the choice of embarking upon either a 12km route from Paper Mill Lock in Little Baddow or a 24km route from Heybridge Basin, both finishing at the Teledyne E2V building in Chelmsford. Many walked in remembrance of loved ones, with some writing heartfelt tributes to friends and family that they then pinned to their t-shirts.

Dominique Brunning, Fundraising Manager for Farleigh Hospice, said “We are thrilled so many people took part in Walk for Life. It was a fantastic day filled with sunshine and laughter! The sponsorship money raised will enable Farleigh Hospice to carry on caring for people in mid Essex affected by life-limiting illness.

Farleigh Hospice would like to thank everyone who took part in this year's event, all of our volunteers who helped us to organise and run the event, and M&G Investments for once again sponsoring our Walk for Life event.

It is because you care that we can.
