When former Farleigh patient Heather Cordwell passed away from peritoneal cancer in June 2016, her twin sister June decided to honour her memory by launching Together for Heather, a campaign designed to raise £130,000 to commemerate Heather’s 13 day stay at Farleigh Hospice.
Heather’s sister continues to passionately raise funds for Farleigh and has so far raised an amazing £34,000! June has held many events including a Ball, quiz nights, taken part in a half marathon and also put on a special event in December for her and Heather’s birthday. As well as this, June has taken part in lots of our Farleigh events including the Bubble Rush in April and plans to take part in the Walk for Life in May, alongside her mum, friends and family.
As part of Together for Heather teachers and students from White Court School in Great Notley, where Heather served as a deputy headteacher, took part in Farleigh’s Cycle for Life with a 50-strong team (one of the largest teams ever assembled for the event) and have raised over £9,000.
