On Sunday 16th September 661 cyclists took to the road as part of Farleigh Hospice’s annual Cycle for Life event, helping to raise an incredible £40,000. The day proved to be a huge success, with riders completing one of the 20km, 50km, or 100km routes through the stunning Essex countryside, both starting and ending at Farleigh’s North Court Road site in Chelmsford.

Dominique Brunning, Events and Operations Manager for Farleigh Hospice said: “Our Cycle for Life event really captures the community spirit that is so vital to Farleigh Hospice, with professional cyclists and families riding side by side, helping to raise funds to support those with life-limiting illnesses in mid Essex.  We would like to thank everyone who took part or sponsored a participant, the volunteers who helped on the day and local accountancy firm MacIntyre Hudson, who have been sponsoring the event for the past 13 years.”

It costs Farleigh Hospice in excess of £16,500 each day to provide services across mid Essex.  Without the continued support of the local community we would not be able to provide care to nearly 4,000 people every year and advice to over 1,000 people every month via our Clinical Advice Line (01245 455478).
