Thursday 27th April 2017

Since the beginning of this year, we have been working hard to provide a variety of new services to our patients and carers that will us help meet the varying needs of our community.

The ultimate aim is to move from having 4 days of service at Chelmsford and 3 days at Maldon, to offering a full range of services at both sites every day once a new site has been found in Maldon.

Our day services now include the following groups and activities in both Chelmsford and Maldon:

  • A new social group for current or previously discharged patients to talk with people in similar situations
  • Our monthly Bookworms group meetings, open to past and present patients, families, and carers
  • A monthly Bereavement Support Group, open to anyone who has been bereaved
  • Help Overcoming Problems Effectively (HOPE) courses planned for both patients and carers

Whilst we await a new location in Maldon, we will continue to offer the following services in Chelmsford:

We are also in the process of setting up some new services, which we will launch throughout the year:

  • Our new Spa Retreat days for current Farleigh patients and their carers are proving to be very popular so far! Please be advised that booking is essential as there are limited spaces.
  • We will soon be launching Assessment and Treatment Clinics to assist in identifying and treating complex symptoms relating to an individual’s life-limiting illness.
  • Finally, we’re hoping to launch our 6 week carer and patient education group courses in late summer.
