What Your Sponsorship Means

The sponsorship money raised by this year's ‘Walk for Life’ will be transformed into high quality, specialist care which makes a real difference to local people when and where they need it most.

At any one time Farleigh Hospice is providing essential services, totally free of charge, to around 1,400 people affected by life-limiting illnesses. To fund this care we depend on local people supporting fundraising events such as ‘Walk for Life’, making donations and leaving gifts to us in their Wills.

People who take part in Farleigh Hospice’s ‘Walk for Life’ usually raise an average of £100 each and their help and support has gone a long way in helping to fund our free caring services over the years. As the need for our services continues to increase each year, we depend on this help and support now more than ever!

If you can get 8 people to sponsor you just £10 each, your sponsorship of £80 could support a patient within their own home by funding one visit from our 'Hospice at Home' team.

If you can get 20 people to sponsor you £10 each, your sponsorship of £200 could pay for a patient to attend our day hospices based in Chelmsford and Maldon for one day.

If you can get 22 people to sponsor you £20 each, your sponsorship of £440 could staff and run our HOP (Hospice Outreach Project) for a whole day, helping to deliver the specialist services of Farleigh Hospice right into the heart of the community

If you can match our top fundraiser from last year’s 'Walk for Life', your sponsorship of £2,200 could provide 24 hours of specialist care on our Inpatient Unit for 4 patients with the most complex of symptoms.
