The HOP

Thank you for visiting our HOP appeal pages, we are really excited by this new service - the UK's first mobile hospice

The Hospice Outreach Project, will enable us to go that extra mile in provding a flexible and accessible range of services right in the heart of our community. By working closely with GP's surgeries the HOP team will be able to offer joint appointments and provide our specialist services of symptom control, support and counselling. By liaising with local groups and parking near to village halls and other community centres we will be able to provide a social and supportive service and can point people to other available services.

The HOP team will initially focus its caring work in the Braintree, Witham and Dunmow areas. We expect that as the project successful it will provide a blue print for new servies across the wider mid Essex area.

The coming year will be one of real challenges. We will have to make sure the patients using the Farleigh Day Hospice in Braintree have services in place for when we have to leave in March 2008. We will have to contact local groups, GP's and venues to set up our schedule of visits. But our immediate challenge is to raise the additional funds for this exciting new venture. I do hope you can get on board the HOP appeal and go that extra mile for local people in need of hospice care.
