Known legally as a Residual Legacy. A suitable clause for inclusion in your Will might be:
“My trustees shall hold my residuary estate and the income thereof upon trust [as to a % share] for the charity known as Farleigh Hospice, registered charity number 284670, of North Court Road, Chelmsford CM1 7FH, for its general purposes. The receipt of the person who professes to be the treasurer or other proper officer for the time being of the charity to be sufficient discharge to my trustees".
“Cash Legacy”
Known legally as a Pecuniary Legacy. A suitable clause for inclusion in your Will might be:
“I give to Farleigh Hospice, registered charity number 284670, of North Court Road, Chelmsford CM1 7FH, the sum of xxxx pounds (in words) (£xxx in figures) for its general purposes and declare that the receipt of the person who professes to be the treasurer or other proper officer for the time being of the charity shall be a sufficient discharge to my trustees".
“Legacy in Kind”
Known legally as a Specific Legacy. A suitable clause for inclusion in your Will might be:
“I give to Farleigh Hospice, registered charity number 284670, of North Court Road, Chelmsford CM1 7FH, my [short description of property given] for its general purposes and declare that the receipt of the person who professes to be the treasurer or other proper officer for the time being of the charity shall be a sufficient discharge to my trustees".
