Making a gift in your will

Leaving a gift in your Will is a great way to ensure that we can continue to make a difference not only now but in the future.  In fact 1 in 4 of our patients are cared for through the income we receive from legacies.

Farleigh Hospice relies greatly on people leaving gifts in their Wills to provide vital services to the local community.

There are three main ways to leave a gift to Hospice:
• ‘Family and Friends First Legacy’,
• ‘Cash Legacy’
• ‘Legacy in Kind’. 

Family and Friends First Legacy
For many people, ensuring that your family is provided for in your Will is a priority.  After making provision for your family and friends, you might choose to leave whatever is left in your estate, or a percentage, to Farleigh Hospice.

Cash Legacy
Cash donations are always very welcome.  Sadly, cash donations tend to decrease in value over time.  To avoid this you can either index link your gift or review it periodically to retain its original value.

Legacy in Kind
Specific items such as property, shares, jewellery or furniture can be gifted.  Leaving the contents of your home as a gift in your Will is welcome as our eight shops can maximise the value of the gift.

Please click here for our legacy brochure.  If you do decide to leave a legacy to Farleigh Hospice, the following specimen legacy clauses  should be taken with you when you see your solicitor.  Alternatively, if you wish to amend your Will with a Codicil, the attached form should be used.  This information will help save you and your solicitor time and effort.  However you choose to help us you can be sure you are making a vital contribution to the future of hospice care in mid-Essex.
