Farleigh Hospice Santas turn Central Park red!

The Chelmsford Santa Fun Run was a fabulous success with 351 people turning up in Chelmsford’s Central Park to take part in our festive dash to raise cash. Between them they pledged to raise approximately £18,500 in sponsorship.

Farleigh Hospice’s PR & Marketing Manager, Cheryl Bunkle said:

“Once again our Santas outdid themselves with some adding to their outfits or bringing along their small children and dogs also dressed in festive attire. We even had a sexy Santa turn up in her Christmas stockings and a recently married bride and groom. Unbelievably the bride completed the 4km route in her full wedding dress (and Santa hat of course!), with the Santa groom wearing his wedding kilt.

We are very grateful to this year’s fantastic Santas for doing their bit to help support local families affected by life limiting illnesses.

We’d also like to say a great big ‘Thank You’ to James from Virgin Active who did a brilliant job of getting our Santas warmed up before the run, to Craig from Chelmsford Radio who kept up the fabulous festive atmosphere before, during and after the run, Amlin UK who supported the event, along with all of our fantastic volunteers who helped out throughout the day.

Farleigh Hospice Santas flood Promenade Park!

The Maldon Santa Fun Run was a great success with 206 people arriving at Promenade Park to take part in our 2nd festive dash to raise cash of the year. Between them they pledged to raise approximately £10,000 in sponsorship.

Farleigh Hospice’s PR & Marketing Manager, Cheryl Bunkle said:

For the second time this December our Farleigh Hospice Santas really did us proud. Amongst the crew we had fully grown Santas, baby Santas, little elves and dogs turning out to complete the festive dash to raise cash for their local hospice. Along with a large team of friends and family, one of our patients; Jenny Green who suffers from Motor Neurone Disease, even completed the course in her motorised scooter.

We are very grateful to all of this year’s fantastic Santas for doing their bit to help raise money to support local families affected by life limiting illnesses.

We’d also like to say a great big ‘Thank You’ to Blackwater Leisure Centre who did a brilliant job of getting our Santas warmed up before the run, to Craig Burchall from Chelmsford Radio who once again kept up the fabulous festive atmosphere before, during and after the run, Amlin UK who supported the event, along with all of our fantastic volunteers who came along to help out on the day. We would also like to thank Anji Old and Geraint Nicholas for their fantastic free photography services, Maldon District Council, Essex & Suffolk Water and Britvic International who once again kindly provided water to keep our Santas hydrated, Plume Adult School Choir for the wonderful entertainment and Eat Natural who donated free tasty treats for our Santas.”
