In Patient Unit

The in-patient unit, which is based in Chelmsford, consists of 15 beds, 9 of which are in single rooms.  Only 10 beds are in use at any one time.  Care is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Rooms have access to  patio areas.  There is also a sitting room and a smoking room for patient use.  All patient rooms have a television set, freeview and DVD facilities, direct line phones, web access points and en suite toilet. There is a fridge in each bedside locker for patient use. There is full wheelchair access.

You can be referred to the in-patient unit for symptom and pain control, respite stays or terminal care.  Whilst in the inpatient unit patients can access any of the services offered by the hospice, including: physiotherapy, occupational therapy, massage and aromatherapy, chiropody, social work support, spiritual care.

Your visitors are welcome at any time and there is a relatives' overnight room with ensuite facilities which immediately family can use.

Children and pets are welcome, but we expect them to be supervised at all times and to respect the other patients and the hospice building.
