At Farleigh Hospice, we understand spiritual and pastoral care to mean giving time and support to explore whatever brings meaning to life. This includes thoughts, feelings, experiences, questions, beliefs.
The Chaplaincy team works as part of the wider hospice team.
We offer:
support to anyone, regardless of belief or outlook
time to talk (no subjects off-limits)
an undertaking not to talk about spirituality or religion, unless requested
prayer
sacraments
reading
help and advice on
planning services of all kinds
contacting ministers or representatives of all faiths and beliefs
accessing cultural needs
Each week there is a short service held in the Sanctuary at midday, to which all are welcome. Details of services are available around the hospice sites and on www.farleighhospice.org . Loved ones can be remembered at anniversaries and special times.
The Sanctuary is open day and night as a place of peace, reflection and prayer. There is a book to record your thoughts and prayer requests. Resources and Holy Books of the major world faiths are available. Candles can be lit to focus thoughts or prayers. Patients’ beds & wheelchairs are easily accommodated in the Sanctuary.
If you wish to see a chaplain, or for more information, please ask a member of staff or ring 01245 457300.
